Is Virtual Reality the future of film making? VR is one of the biggest things around the world right now. It is so easy now due to some smartphones have a VR program in the phone. Everyone has seen the commercials for the Samsung Galaxy phones and the big headset that you can get to use the VR and it is quite appealing. Now Anand Gandhi is asking the questions of what film makers will do with this new sensation. I personally think that this is a new world the film makers can thrive in and make a lot of profit due to this being the new, big, great thing.
This relates to our Production class because of the students future. If I am trying to get into the production business when I am older, I am really excited to hear about this. This could blow up in my opinion. I feel like because VR is just such a cool thing and a really cool feature. This is a thing where people in the VR could be looking around and actually seeing the film unfold around them as if they are in the film or even one of the characters in the film. I think giving the viewers to be into the film or even to just watch it unfold around them like they are actually in the moment could be golden. Giving viewers another thing to do other then eating popcorn in a chair, viewers will just eat it up. I know personally that if I hear of one of my favorite films coming out on VR I would defiantly go invest in it just to see what it is like. I think people going into a school of production should be well aware of this new idea because this could be a huge money maker on who does this first and more importantly who does it the best.
